Reflection on The Course 

ARCH2360 introduced me to a different way of approaching architectural design. Before taking this subject, I mainly associated artificial intelligence with image generation and quick answers. However, throughout the semester, I discovered that AI can become part of the design process itself, helping with research, analysis, visualization, and communication.

One aspect that I found particularly interesting was learning how prompts influence the quality of AI outputs. I realized that obtaining useful results requires clear instructions and continuous refinement. This process taught me that AI is not a shortcut to design but a collaborative tool that responds to the architect's intentions and decisions.

Experimenting with various AI platforms allowed me to compare their strengths and limitations. Some tools were useful for generating concepts and visuals, while others helped with organizing information and improving presentations. At the same time, I noticed that AI-generated outputs often lacked sensitivity to context and occasionally produced impractical solutions. This reminded me that creativity, critical thinking, and understanding human needs remain essential responsibilities of the designer.

Another important lesson from this course was the ethical use of AI. As these technologies continue to evolve, architects must learn how to use them responsibly, ensuring that originality, accuracy, and professional integrity are maintained. AI should support design thinking rather than replace it.

Overall, ARCH2360 has broadened my perspective on the future of architecture. It has encouraged me to become more open to emerging technologies and to view AI as a valuable assistant that can enhance productivity and inspire new ideas. More importantly, the course reinforced my belief that meaningful architecture will always depend on human creativity, empathy, and the ability to respond thoughtfully to people and places.
