Need a quote for aquarium or pond maintenance? Or have you had quotes and looking for the best price. 

Aquarium initial assessment will include

1. Measurements Taken  

   I’ll measure your aquarium to calculate its volume — especially helpful if you're unsure of its capacity. Depth will also be recorded unless already known.

2. Equipment Check  

   All equipment (make and model) will be noted. Please note: I don’t carry spare parts, so any replacements will need to be ordered in.

3. Plant Inventory  

   All aquatic plants will be identified and recorded to ensure appropriate care and maintenance can be provided if needed.

4. Livestock Review  

   All fish species and approximate quantities will be noted. This helps me tailor care recommendations and monitor health. A complimentary fish health check is included as part of the initial assessment and is also covered in ongoing aquarium maintenance services.

Aquarium & Pond Parts Installation  

Whether you're upgrading equipment or setting up something new, I offer reliable installation services tailored to your setup. Aquarium part installations are charged at £25, with travel costs added separately. Pond equipment installations are £35 plus travel.

Every installation is handled with care and attention to detail, ensuring your system runs smoothly and safely. I’ll walk you through the setup, answer any questions, and make sure everything is compatible with your livestock and environment — no guesswork, no stress. You're in good hands.

New Aquarium Setup Service

Starting fresh? Let AJ Aquatics handle your new tank setup with care and precision. Whether it’s a nano tank or a 1000L showpiece, we’ll get your aquarium ready for livestock with a professional setup tailored to its size.

💷 Setup services are £5 less than our standard maintenance rates — for example, an 800L tank setup is £60.  

🔧 Equipment and travel costs are not included.  

🎯 If you already have the necessary equipment ready to go, we may be able to offer a small discount.

Fish re-homing service

If you’re no longer able to care for your fish, I offer a free rehoming service to help them find safe, permanent homes. I do not resell any livestock — each fish is matched with a suitable environment where they’ll be properly cared for long-term.

This service is designed to ease the stress of parting with your aquatic pets, and ensure they continue to thrive. If I’m unable to take them in directly, I can help connect you with trusted groups like Fish Rescue and Welfare on Facebook, who also specialise in ethical rehoming.

Your fish deserve a future — and I’m here to help make that happen.

Personal Tropical Fish Delivery  

I offer personal delivery of tropical fish within my local service area, ensuring your livestock arrives safely and stress-free. Each journey is planned with your fish’s wellbeing in mind — no couriers, just experienced hands and secure transport.

This service is ideal for delicate species, new setups, or anyone who wants peace of mind knowing their fish are cared for from start to finish. While I’m currently working on expanding to courier options for longer distances, all deliveries are local for now.

Please note: in cases of severe weather, delivery may be rescheduled to protect the health and safety of your fish. Their well-being always comes first. 

Water Quality Testing Service

Ensure your aquarium or pond is thriving with our professional water testing service. This includes checks for pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and other key parameters to support healthy livestock and plant life.

✅ Included at no extra cost for clients with ongoing maintenance plans.  

💷 For one-off visits, a £15 testing fee applies.

Aquarium maintenance pricing guidelines 

Price list for aquarium maintenance services: 

1. Basic Cleaning:  

The basic clean includes filter cleaning, gravel vacuuming (with a water change), glass cleaning (inside and out), a water parameter check, and a fish health assessment.

2. Deep Cleaning:  

Deep clean includes: Filter cleaned (impeller housing cleaned and parts inspected and filter foams inspected), Gravel cleaned (this will include a water change), Glass cleaned (inside and out), Ornaments cleaned, Equipment checked, Parameters and temperature check, Fish health check.

All prices listed under Aquarium Maintenance are one-off costs unless ongoing maintenance is requested. Travel and equipment expenses will be added where applicable.

3. Aquarium Maintenance Packages:  

Monthly Maintenance (Basic): Starts at £30/month (Depending on Aquarium size)

Monthly Maintenance (Deep): Starts at £40/month  (Depending on Aquarium size)

Note: Prices vary depending on the size of the aquarium, location, equipment cost and distance travelled and any other specific service requirements. Contact me for a tailored quote.

I encourage my customers to keep stock of treatments and parts as I do not stock these to keep prices low so I can just charge for labour,  if you have bought the part or treatments needed for the job treating and fixing will be included in the labour costs at no extra cost if I need to buy the treatment/parts or any other equipment this will be added to your invoice.
