Degree: Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) program in clinical or counseling psychology Degree Note: Must be enrolled in an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral degree program in clinical or counseling psychology to apply for a HPSP scholarship. Scholarship covers the internship year and the years before internship, depending on annual requirements. For instance, a three year HPSP would cover their 2nd and 3rd year, along with the internship (if it’s a civilian internship).
Applicants should be informed that selection for HPSP does not mean they will be automatically selected for an AF internship. They will need to apply for and compete with civilian applicants for a coveted AF internship position. If an HPSP applicant is not selected for an AF internship they will be expected to complete a civilian APA internship. While they are completing their civilian internship they will receive all applicable HPSP benefits to include the stipend.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of course work in a program leading to a doctorate in Clinical, Counseling or Combined Professional Psychology from a college or university or professional school that is accredited by the American Psychological Association in Clinical, Counseling or Combined Professional- Scientific Psychology.
