Established in 2022 under the AIR-SATREPS initiative, the research laboratories at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) play a central role in advancing scientific understanding of air pollution in Cambodia. These facilities provide a dedicated platform for researchers and students to develop essential technical skills, explore air quality dynamics, emission inventories, and assess the impacts of air pollution on public health and climate.

The AIR-SATREPS laboratories are designed to train local expertise and strengthen national research capacity—laying the foundation for evidence-based air quality management. Equipped for chemical and environmental analysis, the laboratories support both routine monitoring and in-depth research on fine and ultrafine particulate matter.

In addition to fixed monitoring stations, the project integrates training, fieldwork, and collaborative studies with regional and international experts. This collaborative approach ensures the long-term sustainability of the platform and contributes to Cambodia’s broader goals of environmental protection and public health improvement.
