Welcome to the AIDA Framework
A classroom approach to help students think with AI
As AI becomes a common part of our world—and our classrooms—educators are asking important questions:
How should students use it? How do we make sure it helps them think, rather than replacing their thinking?
The AIDA Framework was created to meet that challenge.
AIDA offers a simple, flexible structure that helps students use AI to build understanding, explore ideas, reflect on their thinking, and apply what they know. It isn’t a checklist or a fixed order. It’s a framework students and teachers can return to across lessons, assignments, and conversations.
AIDA stands for:
Assist – Build foundational understanding
Investigate – Ask deeper questions and explore ideas
Dialogue – Reflect, reason, and refine thinking
Apply – Create, decide, or demonstrate understanding
Whether you’re a teacher, parent, or school leader, this site will offer practical tools, examples, and ideas for making AI a tool that strengthens—not shortcuts—student learning.
“AI won’t think for our students—but with the right guidance, it can help them think better.”
