Using AI in Learning: The Game Plan
The AIDA Framework helps students use AI as a thinking partner—not a shortcut. This graphic uses the metaphor of playing a sport to show how each phase of AIDA supports the learning process:
Assist is about learning the rules and getting grounded in the basics.
Investigate is where students build strategy, practice skills, and explore deeper questions.
Dialogue brings in reflection—talking through ideas, getting feedback, and refining understanding.
Apply is game time. It’s where students perform, create, or solve. AI supports the prep, but students still have to take the shot.
Just like in sports, real growth comes from practice, reflection, and stepping up to play. With AIDA, AI becomes a tool that sharpens student thinking—not one that replaces it.
