This theme is about the global waste crisis and the fundamental shift needed from linear "take-make-waste" systems to circular models. It covers how different materials (plastics, electronics, food) break down in nature, the concept of "planned obsolescence," and innovative solutions like industrial symbiosis where one industry's waste becomes another's raw material.
Fun Fact: Less than 10% of all plastic ever made has been recycled - the rest persists in landfills or the environment for centuries.
Students will take part in an exciting day filled with creativity and community spirit. They’ll transform waste into new, useful items, revamp old clothes, and participate in environmental clean-up activities around the school. While the day is fully supervised, students will also reflect on their role as global citizens and the shared responsibility to care for our surroundings.
