Day 1: Immersion in AI and Education
The mobility week commenced on Monday, 24th February, with teachers meeting at the hotel and embarking on a group walk to the school. After a welcoming reception and an informative school tour, participants took part in a workshop led by Prado, which focused on the ethical implications of AI in education and its profound impact on student learning. This session prompted deep discussions about the challenges and opportunities AI presents in educational settings.
The day continued with a meeting among the teachers to exchange ideas and strategies. After lunch, participants set off for a sightseeing tour of Madrid, taking in the city’s landmarks via a 2-hour bus tour. The evening concluded with a communal dinner at Casanova Tavern, where teachers had the opportunity to reflect on the day’s experiences and bond with colleagues from different backgrounds.

Tuesday, 25th February, offered a deeper dive into educational innovation. The morning began with a visit to Virgen de Europa private school, located in Boadilla del Monte, where teachers explored cutting-edge pedagogical and technological advancements in education. This visit provided valuable insights into how schools can integrate technology to improve learning outcomes and student engagement.
Later, participants were given the unique opportunity to visit the International Observatory of Artificial Intelligence in Education. This landmark institution is at the forefront of research and global efforts to incorporate AI in educational processes. The visit provided participants with a broader perspective on how AI can enhance teaching and learning worldwide.
The afternoon session included a teachers’ meeting back at the school, followed by a trip to Retiro Park, where educators had some free time to relax and connect informally. The day ended with teachers having dinner at their leisure, allowing them to explore Madrid on their own.

On Wednesday, 26th February, the focus shifted to more hands-on learning experiences. The Greek team led two workshops, each designed to stimulate collaboration and knowledge sharing among teachers. These workshops facilitated an exchange of best practices and encouraged educators to explore practical ways of integrating AI into their teaching methods.
Following the workshops, teachers enjoyed a guided tour of Madrid, experiencing the city's history and culture. The day wrapped up with a traditional Spanish dinner featuring “squid sandwiches,” a popular local dish, and a chance for teachers to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The evening was left free for personal exploration, further enhancing the social aspect of the trip.

This cultural excursion provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the week’s learning in a different setting.
Back at the school, a farewell tea was held, where all international participants gathered to reflect on the experience and receive diplomas for their participation in the project. This was a fitting conclusion to the mobility week, highlighting the sense of achievement and collaboration among educators. The group then enjoyed a farewell lunch before heading to L'Algarabia Tavern for a traditional Spanish dinner, marking the end of a truly enriching experience.
