No. We are a student-run organization made up by students who attend AHS. We are not under the umbrella of AHS, ASB, or AUSD.
No. AHSSCR intends to cooperate with ASB to protect against club disenfranchisement and maintaining club accountability. We are not revolutionaries who plan to overthrow ASB; we only want to ensure that clubs, especially smaller ones, are able to maintain the standards that ASB holds with mutual cooperation. ASB was elected and approved by the people's will, and thus in order to achieve anything, it is not only necessary, but beneficial to work with the student government on these matters.
Our organization plans on using a variety of methods to ensure the security of the smaller and more niche clubs on-campus, such as coordinating with senior ASB and club officials who are involved with club affairs, utilizing the legislation process outlined in the ASB Constitution, and other measures.
We believe that the status quo needs more input and consideration by clubs and other parties to ensure the success of ASB regulations, and to ensure clubs with less opportunity and resources are still able to contribute to the school as a whole.
