A select ensemble of treble and bass voices. As this is an intermediate ensemble, members are chosen by the choral directors; basis for selection includes voice type, and demonstration of having mastered the basic fundamental skills of singing (vocal production, tone quality, breathing, etc.), and music reading.

This course involves intensive training in small ensemble singing, with a concentration in chamber music such as madrigal, gospel, musical theatre, pop, “Classical,” and vocal jazz styles. While learning advanced rehearsal and performance techniques, the students will analyze compositional elements in cultural and historical contexts.

There are many public performances each semester; participation in performances is mandatory, and a large percentage of the grade. Some expense to cover concert attire rental, music, and other items for learning will be necessary for this course.
