An entry-level ensemble of treble voices in which the fundamentals of singing, sight reading and ear training are emphasized. Students will sing repertoire from various eras of musical history and from a variety of styles including gospel, musical theatre, pop, and “classical.”
While learning rehearsal and performance techniques, the students will analyze compositional elements in cultural and historical contexts.
The Treble Choir performs two to three times each semester; participation in performances is mandatory, and a large percentage of the grade. There will be 2-3 after-school rehearsals per year.
Some expense to cover concert attire rental, music, and other items for learning will be necessary for this course.
