General Thoughts:

• Flower Symbolism: Daffodils (Narcissus) for pride. Chrysanthemum (Dianthus) for obstinance. I am aware that I am stretching, a little bit, on the symbolic meaning here. I do not care.

• Decided not to keep the original illustations this time. Partially because working them around the border artwork would have been frustrating. Partially because I wanted my work to stand on its own. Partially because there are a million and one typesets out there that already keep it; I didn't need to do another.

• Wanted this to feel sketchy and watercolor. Because I like it. Also because gentlewomen at the time were expected to be good at art; it was part of their high-bred education. Also because my last few typesets were heavy on the art (with colored backgrounds), and I needed to cleanse the palate.

• Linework was isolated and lifted from public domain books. The painting was me.
