Software used: Microsoft Word, Procreate, Affinity Publisher, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer
Public Domain artwork is primarily sourced through the Internet Archive. Sometimes I use illustrations from early or original editions of the book being designed, but only if they too are in the public domain (1927 or older).
Public Domain texts are primarily sourced through Project Gutenberg
I do not and never will use generative AI for any of my work, period.
All color work is CMYK
Full-page artwork extends into the bleed
Assorted book covers and title pages. I don't have dedicated project pages for these, and most of them are older.
My personal favorites in this collection are: Shattered Worlds (cover), Cacoethe (cover), and Lifted (title page)
All images pulled from the eBook project folders, which means the bleed and print margins have been cropped.
Older Practice Covers. All of these were made in open source software (GIMP), none of them were commissions or for real books, and their primary purpose here is to offer a wider sampling of the ways in which I approach composition. Most of the artwork is from public domain libraries online; all of it has been modified by yours truly. Maybe 10-15% of the artwork is original.
