Time allotted: 1.20hs
Recycled language: Clothes, foods, vocabulary related to buying and selling (eg: Cash, credit card, change, customer, sale, discount, etc…)
Unit topic: Shopping & Buying gifts (the unit coincides with the upcoming of Fathers day)
Objectives: Throughout the unit the goal is to use the grammar and vocabulary indicated for communicative purposes, combining both accuracy and fluency. Aditionally, student will practice navigating diffrent websites and using technology.
Lastly, all these lesson plans will follow the WWW Model proposed by Dudeney & Hockly, 2007.
Warmer (15 min):
The teacher will write the title “shopping” on the board along with the following questions:
Do you like shopping?
What’s the last thing you bought?
What’s your favorite type of shop?
Do you ever make shopping mistakes?
Then the teacher, rather than giving examples of answers herself, will play the following video of native speakers answering the same questions:

(for this activity she will be using the classroom TV)
After watching the video she will ask: “What about you? Let’s answer the questions. Do you like shopping?” And proceed to allow the students who are raising their hands to answer.
Web (15 min):
She will then tell the students that now they will be the interviewer. They will have to access the following link, that will have been shared on the google classroom through their cellphones where they will review and learn vocabulary related to shopping as well as solving the excercises on the website:

Warmer (10min):
The teacher will ask the students if they have ever had to use english to buy things? When? Do you remember what phrases you used?
Here the teacher will write phrases that the customer or salesperson may say, clarifying the vocabulary for the following stage.
The teacher will ask the students what the next festivity is. The students should reach the answer that it will be fathers day.
The teacher can then proceed to ask the following questions:
What do your dad’s like to do?
Have you ever bought them a gift before?
Who buys the gifts in your family?
Have you thought about what you can give them this year?
The students will take turns to answer and share their opinions
Web (10min):
For the remaining parts of the lesson the students will be asked to take out their laptops. They will then have to access the following link on classroom:

The students will work in pairs and after browsing through the article, each will choose 3 gifts they like and orally explain to their partner why they have chosen them.
Warmer (10min):
The teacher will write "shopping" on the board and ask the students to think about what related words come to mind, creating a mind map in the proccess. In this mid map the teacher will add certain higlighted words.
Web (15min):
She will ask the students to look for and write down the deffinitions of said words in online dictionaries that can be Oxford, Cambridge or Longman
Once they check their meaning together the teacher will ask them to complete the 3 activities on the following website:

The teacher will ask the students what the next festivity is. The students should reach the answer that it will be fathers day.
