Agricultural Issues Teams participating in Agricultural Issues consist of three to seven FFA members where they perform a skit detailing an agricultural issue. These skits are between ten and fifteen minutes in length and allow students to showcase their creativity in props, dialog, as well as knowledge.

Demonstration Teams participating in the Demonstration Contest consist of two to three FFA members where they demonstrate a skill relating to the agriculture or natural resources industries. This hands on contest is between ten and fifteen minutes long and it gives members a chance to hone their skills on a particular skill.

Extemporaneous Public Speaking Students who participate in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Contest are given 30 minutes to prepare a four to five minute speech on a topic relating to agriculture or natural resources. Members research one of four broad knowledge areas and write their speech based on the knowledge retained from their studies. This contest allows members to think on their feet as their speech topic changes from contest to contest.

Job Interview This contest is designed to give students practical experience on the steps needed to obtain a job in today’s job market. Students bring a resume and cover letter to the contest site where they fill out a job application and sit through a job interview.
Parliamentary Procedure
Public Speaking Students who participate in the Prepared Public Speaking Contest are members who have six to eight minutes to give a speech on an agriculture related topic. This contest allows students to develop their public speaking skills while learning about a particular topic on a very in-depth level.
