Hydeia Broadbent is an HIV/AIDS activist who has been on the front lines of issue since the age of six. Being born with HIV she was introduced to Elizabeth Glaser, a pediatric that worked with children born with the disease, trying to raise awareness on the issue. Together the two had gone to a multitude of seminars and public speaking events to share her story of hospital visits and the affects on her family.
In modern day, Hydeia has appeared on multiple talk and news shows, spreading news on how she has progressed personally as well as to how she has worked to help people with HIV and AIDS in all communities across the world. She has become a representative of the Magic Johnson Foundation. She had also founded the Hydeia L. Broadbent Foundation, earning her the Black Achievement Award from JET magazine.
