The African American community is one that has gone through mass amounts of struggle and discrimination. But they continue to strive and thrive in the modern day. How do these communities function, how do they come together, and how do they stand strong?
A major pillar for these communities are their recreation and community centers. The location for day cares, tutoring, food banks, and family bonding these centers act as the meeting point for all members of the community. This pillar leads to members getting the aid they need to make their way to better lives.
A second pillar is the members of the community themselves. These pillars are members of the church, teachers, business people, or anyone who helps their neighbor. Standing in as role models for the younger generation and helping those around them, these members of the community allow for their people to see a brighter future where they all have come together and stand in success.
