The Rink at RedHat 

Students will have the opportunity to work at RedHat Amphitheatre downtown Raleigh at the ice-skating rink for the winter season working the ice skate rentals. The best news is that all the money goes directly towards the student's chorus account. There is no tax taken out from this as we are working as a non-profit.   You will see the shift times listed in the google doc - this will be the time you will need to work.  The amount earned will be determined by each skate session that occurs within your shift. You will either work a 2 skate session or a 3 skate session.   You will earn $90 per person worked for the 2 skate session and $135 per person worked for the 3 skate session.   The booster will only take out a minimal $1 per shift worked (this is a requirement of our 501(c)(3) status)  

So a total of $89 for the 2 skate session or $134 for the 3 skate session

We are the only group that has been asked to participate so we have access to their entire schedule.  We can have 5 people per shift. Any time slots we cannot fill they will fill with their own staff so it is important that you sign up ASAP so that it allows them to fill any empty slots.

Requirements: 

Must be 15 years old 

We can sign up 5 students per shift as well as parents/family friends of students as well can do it on their behalf.  

When signing up, you MUST COMMIT TO THE EVENT. If you have to cancel within 2 weeks of the event, it is your responsibility to find shift coverage.

Below is the link that is on the AFHS Chorus website page.  We are handling sign ups via a shared google spreadsheet.  We have to provide Red Hat our schedule 2 weeks before the start of that following weeks schedule.  You will see the due date at the bottom of each week.  For example, the first week 11/22/25-11/23/25 - is due by 11/8/25.  The deadline to sign up is at the bottom highlighted in yellow on each week's tab.  Once your name is entered in, i will submit this to Red Hat so please only sign up if you are 100% committed.  We cannot have any no shows or they will not allow us back!

This can be really successful and a way to earn a lot of money for your child's chorus account and a fun way as well to be able to work with friends and family!!
