Our Director
Sam Wanamaker is thrilled to be the Choral Director at Apex Friendship High School. He graduated with honor cum laude from Appalachian State University with a major in Choral Music Education. Professionally, Mr. Wanamaker has performed as a soloist with the North Carolina Symphony and the North Carolina Master Chorale. Mr. Wanamaker has conducted and performed throughout the United States and Europe in Concert Halls and Cathedrals. This year marks Mr. Wanamaker's eighth year of teaching and is happy to do so at Apex Friendship High School in North Carolina. "I feel like I have won the lottery... Teaching these incredible students in this community makes me believe even further that teaching choral music is my greatest joy, and I am proud to foster that joy at AFHS."
