Back To School Resources- https://www.readbrightly.com/back-to-school-essentials/
Your student may be excited or anxious about heading back to school. This website has a lot of great resources including books on social and emotional support, best books by grade levels, reading and learning resources and tips for families.
Supporting Reading at Home (K-3rd Grade)
The links below offer different skills that can help families support their readers. They have resources for Kindergarten- Third Grade and videos that show an example of what the different skills would look like. You may already be doing some of these things and not even realize that you are helping your reader at home! Each link leads you to the introduction for that grade level.

Supporting Reading at Home (4th & 5th Grade)-
https://jenniferfindley.com/parent-teacher-conference-tips-supporting-readers/
You may some find some helpful tips under the lower grade levels that could help an older reader. Jennifer Findley shares some tips that she has found for parents and that she has used with her own children as well. One tip that she shares is that parents read a few chapters of a book that students will be reading in class to be able to talk about that story. You can always check our school library or the local public for copies (physical or online). Here's Greenwood County Public Library's link to look for books: http://tlc.greenwoodcountylibrary.org:8080/#section=home
Storyline Online- https://storylineonline.net/
I included this resource on the student page as well, but this collection has some entertaining books being read aloud and they're free!
Healthy Learners- https://healthylearners.com/where-we-serve/upstate/
We care about the whole student at Archview Elementary School. Students dealing with vision, dental or other health issues may have a harder time focusing and learning. Healthy Learners is a great organization who may be able to help if your student is having difficulties.

This is a link to the "Tools for Parents" section on my Digital Curation of resources on Digital Citizenship. These resources are tools to help you teach your child how to be safe, smart and kind online. There is also a podcast and a book list that could be for teachers or parents found here: https://rmday.dropmark.com/1256487/30414599.
Be on the look out for a list to come home with a list of clean items that we can use in our Creation Stations. Some items include craft items, old (clean) recyclable materials, and old electronics. For bigger items or larger donations, please contact Mrs. Day. Storage space is limited, so we will collect multiple times throughout the year as we begin different units.
