I grew up in Encinitas, California and have been obsessed with sports since I was little. Coming from a family of educators meant always being around teaching and seeing firsthand the impact it can have on students and the community. I was fortunate to serve as a team captain at the club, high school, and collegiate levels and that naturally led me to pursue a career as a physical education teacher and coach.

CSU Monterey Bay was my starting point before transferring to CSU Chico, where I earned my degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education. I was a student athlete at both universities on the soccer team. Student teaching began through CSU Chico at Pleasant Valley High School, and was later completed at San Diego State University while student teaching at Albert Einstein Academies, where I was fortunate to be hired as a full-time PE teacher.

Since starting at AEA in 2020, I’ve helped build a PE program that I’m really proud to be a part of. Our work has been recognized at the state and county level but what I love most about our program is that we teach through the IB and PSPE (Personal, Social, Physical Education) lens, focusing on the whole child, not just the physical skills. We take a lot of pride in making sure our students have a meaningful and positive experience in PE.

At Albert Einstein Academies, our focus is on helping students build confidence, stay active, and learn how to work well with others. My goal is for students to feel successful, no matter their skill level, and to leave class feeling good about themselves.

I currently coach both the elementary and middle school soccer teams and really enjoy being out on the field with students. The focus stays on effort, teamwork, and learning from both wins and losses… and having some fun along the way.

My wife, Carly, and I both grew up in San Diego, met in college, and live in the San Diego area with our cat, Bo. Outside of school, I stay active as much as I can. I manage a surf camp during the summer and spend a lot of my free time surfing, snowboarding, and traveling.
