Akoben Martial Arts Academies LLC

The Akoben Martial Arts Academies LLC trains youth from ages 6 to 21 in safe and conducive learning environments. The workshops, trips, and activities permit participants to attain skill sets, and engage team building and leadership opportunities. These prosocial behaviors develop well-balanced participants into well-rounded adults and future role models for their families, neighborhoods, communities, and the Greater Delaware Valley. The targeted outcomes will be: (1) reduced behavioral incidents; (2) increased group cohesion; and (3) increased community bonding. Instilling prosocial behaviors into the participants encourages next few successive generations to develop and use safer and more moderated skills towards conflict resolution. The solutions will be fair, specific, and realistic, and will embrace the cultural norms respective to each participant as taught in the role modeling components in the workshops. This system encourages parental and family involvement, collaborations with other caring adults, and develops social capital with multiple youth participants. Contributions, commentary, advisement, and supports from properly vetted community residents will always be welcome, and integrated into the project when and where appropriate. This system implements fitness events, martial arts, high adventure activities, and field trips in and around Philadelphia (PA) for casual outings, developmental training, and engaging challenges.
