A big part of Ada Vista's magic is the school community events throughout the academic year.
From Caminata to Family Picnics and Fiesta Latina, we encourage family and friends to join our global community and share in the enrichment of culture, fun, and togetherness.
The PTO communicates about two types of events: community (to promote togetherness) and fundraising (to support our school). Below you will find a comprehensive list as well as a breakdown of the events by type.

For Kindergarten families, you'll meet teachers, make friends, and explore classrooms.
Join us from 3:30 - 4:30 PM.
For 1st - 4th grade families, you'll revisit familiar halls and friends and meet new teachers and classmates.

Hey parents/caregivers, come celebrate the first day of school with fellow AV parents!
Whether you're crying tears of sadness after dropping off for the first time or tears of happiness because you finally have a little more time to yourself, Sra. Woodside will host this event of donuts and coffee (and tears, maybe?).

Community is at the heart of Ada Vista. Grab a blanket and your picnic essentials for Ada Vista's Family Picnic. It's a great opportunity to connect and grow together.
We will also have 4 food trucks available.
So, come hungry and ready to mingle to kickstart our exciting year!

Stay and play after school and visit the book fair before hitting up the Family Picnic! Ada Vista is excited to partner with Plumfield Books for a book fair!

Tubing Night
Tubing Night
It's winter time! Get ready to hit the slopes with fellow Ada Vista friends and family with a tubing night at Cannonsburg! Each time slot provides 2 hours of tubing fun. You can also warm up next to a fire pit in-between runs!
When: January 23, 2026

Cost: $22 per person

Coming March 7, 2026, Ada Vista PTO will host the Let's Glow Crazy dance at Forest Hills Northern. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for some glow fun.
There will be a DJ, photo booth, and face painting!
Ticket sales will be limited, and event is open to all Ada Vista families.
NOTE: This event is not a drop off event. Adults must accompany student.

Fiesta Latina
Fiesta Latina
Come celebrate Latin culture and another fabulous end of the school year! Fiesta Latina will be on May 28 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. There will be Latin music, food trucks, and community fun!
Festivities will be at the Ada Vista playground. Please feel free to bring picnic blankets and chairs.

These events are designed to fundraise for the Ada Vista PTO to support our students and school.

Caminata
Caminata
Caminata de Colores is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year! It is a school-wide color walk that begins at Ada Vista, weaves throughout downtown Ada. Upon returning to Ada Vista, 4th graders are honored and covered with colorful powers (think Color Run) as their rite of passage.
The PTO provides students and teachers colorful t-shirts and encourages everyone to dress festively and colorfully! Students will wear the following colors based on grade or position:
Kinder - Blue
1st Grade - Green
2nd Grade - Yellow
3rd Grade - Orange
4th Grade - White
Staff - Cyber Pink
Parents are invited and encouraged to join their children on the walk. We encourage parents to wear Cyber Blue Caminata shirts, which can be purchased at the Green Husky store (linked below).
Come wearing smiles, ready for fun, walking, music and snacks! Hope to see you there!

How is Caminata the PTO's biggest fundraiser?
Along the Ada Vista property, the PTO places signs created by parents, caregivers, and friends that show support and love for the Ada Vista students. After the walk, students get to take the signs home!
After placing a donation, the donor will receive a link that will allow you to create a sign. You will have the option to create a sign with an image or with the Caminata logo.
While caregivers can order signs to donate, we offer an additional option for businesses. We have a donation tier system to encourage local and family-related business sponsorship for Caminata. Business logos will be printed on signs that will be hung and displayed throughout the year. Feel free to reach out to the AV PTO for more information.
Donations and sign submissions are due TBD.
The PTO aims to reduce the number of donation asks, which is why we suggest the one-time donation of $100 per child attending Ada Vista. Of course, we appreciate any donation your family is able to give. We want EVERY STUDENT to have a sign to represent them on this walk.To order a sign, select the link below. There is a donation minimum of $3.

In addition to the donations for Caminata signs, you will have an opportunity to participate in a silent auction, which occurs simultaneously with Caminata.
For this virtual silent auction, you may bid on coveted parking spots, Jersey playdates, principal for the day, event tickets, and more. Details will be forthcoming.

Swinging for Education
Swinging for Education
Do you love to golf? Awesome! You can spend a day golfing while supporting Ada Vista Elementary.
Coming May 8, 2026, you can participate in the Swinging for Education golf outing. This outing will be the AV PTO's fundraiser to get us to our financial goals and prepared for the following academic school year.
