Sara started her journey on the research of the Adaptive Memory subject during her undergraduate years at the EvoCog Lab – University of Aveiro in the context of an initiation research fellowship. Afterword, her master’s thesis project focused on the mnemonic animacy effect. Both projects were supervised by Josefa N. S. Pandeirada with the collaboration of James Nairne. Currently, Sara is a PhD student at the Department of Education and Psychology, University of Aveiro, Portugal. Her research project focuses also on the animacy effect and is being supervised by Josefa N. S. Pandeirada, and co-supervised by Marie Poirier (City, University of London) and James S. Nairne . Her PhD project is being supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (SFRH/BD/145097/2019). Her main research interests include experimental psychology, cognitive psychology and evolutionary psychology
