I am a third-year occupational therapy student at the University of Mary in North Dakota. I am completing my doctoral capstone project in the sports department at the YMCA of Greater San Antonio in Texas (YMCA-SATX). The doctoral capstone experience takes place at the end of our curriculum. It requires a student to develop advanced skills in an area such as program development and education in an area of interest. My interest is helping the YMCA create resources and training material so volunteers, coaches, and staff can help engage youth with disabilities in adaptive baseball. I am also assisting the sports department at the YMCA-SATX in creating an inclusive baseball program they can offer to youth of all abilities in the San Antonio community. In my free time, I love to go on adventures with my dog Harley, hang out with friends, go to the gym, and learn new things. After graduation, I want to work towards becoming a certified hand therapist and eventually start my own business.
