The Adams County, Indiana WWII Gold Star Honor Roll has been an eleven year project of the History Topics WWII Course at Bellmont High School in Decatur, Indiana. The goal of this class was to learn about significant turning points in WWII through the eyes of those who were there, honor their sacrifice, and never forget the price of freedom. Nearly all information has been researched and compiled by Bellmont students through a variety of local, government, genealogical, internet, and personal sources. Every effort has been made to include complete and accurate information. Since this project began in 2014, a tremendous number of additional resources have been made available. As such, some profiles may be incomplete and re-evaluated as time permits. To report errors or to add additional material to these stories please contact the teacher, Mr. Bryan Lineberry

“Through this project, I connected with the descendants of my soldier’s family and a historian in the Netherlands; fantastic people who I never would have met if not for my research” -Shelby Nower, Class of 2019.
“The symbolism of this project is very important because it highlights our own people. It is one thing to honor soldiers who fought in the war, but to honor the ones from our county is something else entirely; bringing pride to our community. We will never be able to express just how grateful we are to those soldiers who fought for us, but maybe this website is a good way to start” - Meghan Quinn, Class of 2018.
