ACTION Teams partner middle-school students with career mentors for service learning projects. Students take action to solve real world problems in our communities.
During a time of increased violence, we teach teens how to speak up, ask questions, empathize, and lead action. In addition to club projects, students may join an ACTION Team. Community mentors are paired with approximately 10-12 students. Attention is given to match student talents and interests with like careers.

Each team designs an outreach activity based on a need in the community. For example, an architect can work with students to design a study space at a homeless shelter. The possibilities are limitless! Past projects have involved college professors, television producers, news reporters/anchors, social workers, pet therapists, music therapists, legislators, doctors, engineers, business owners, botanists, wildlife experts, politicians and other career mentors. ACTION Team projects are implemented over multiple days throughout the school year.
