Call to ACTION

Call to ACTION:

Groups of students join with civic and business leaders, conservation specialists, social workers, law enforcement, and other career professionals. The students and their mentors meet throughout the school-year to design and implement service projects that relate to the students’ career aspirations and address a specific need in the community. We encourage our students to use their gifts and creativity in a way that promotes unity. We are cultivating a community of upstanders by leading ACTION.

Definition of an Upstander:

An upstander is (1) a person who takes a stand against the issues that are dividing our community; (2) a person who speaks or acts in support of an individual or cause, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being attacked or bullied.
