The Freda Bennett Carnival is a held at Lyneham Hockey Centre, ACT in February each year
The Freda Bennett Carnival is a fantastic opportunity for players, umpires and those keen to be involved in Masters Hockey to spend a weekend playing hockey together.
This event relies on volunteers – if you are interested in umpiring or helping over the weekend, please email actwomensmasters@gmail.com
The Freda Bennett Carnival is run as a round-robin with 4 divisions, depending on numbers, will be run over 3 days, from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Division 1 — Fast, skilled, and highly competitive. For experienced players who enjoy a quick game, strong ball control, and high‑intensity competition.
Division 2 — Competitive with a moderate pace. Suited to players who still enjoy a solid contest but prefer a slightly less intense tempo than Division 1.
Division 3 — Social but still structured. Ideal for players who want to be involved, enjoy the game, and prefer a balanced mix of competition and fun.
Division 4 — Social, steady pace. Best for players who enjoy a slower, more relaxed game with plenty of touches and space to play.
Division 5 — Gentle pace and highly social. Designed for players who want maximum participation with minimal pressure, focusing on enjoyment, movement, and involvement.
Players are to be registered and play with only 1 team.
First, please pay the 2027 ACT Women's Masters Membership ($0) and the 2027 HA levy using the button below. It will show $0 plus the HA Levy, if you have already paid HA Levy, when you go to the next window, it will deduct the levy, leaving $0. If you played NSW Indoor or your club fees, you may have paid your HA Levy. If you haven't paid your HA Levy, it was $70, we suggest you register, if you can, with your club first.
All players need to register and pay through the Player Registration link above ($55+ admin fee).
Note, there has been no increase in fees this year.
Games will be 2 x 15 min halves. Whole draw at bottom of this page when it has been confirmed.
The 3 fields at Lyneham will be used. Some games will commence from 4.00pm Friday night.
As there will be time allocated for watering, the start times will be offset resulting in some divisions may not play on all turfs.
Game results will be entered into Revolutionise (see link above) so you will be able to see all results and game times online.
Please read the Competition Rules and Regulations document.
