Bio / Description
Japanese localization specialist dedicated to bringing the authentic essence of indie games to the Japanese community.
Many exceptional indie games remain undiscovered in the Japanese market due to language barriers. I have seen countless players hesitate to purchase a game simply because it lacked Japanese support, or struggle to immerse themselves in a world marred by awkward machine translations. Having experienced these frustrations myself as a long-time indie game enthusiast, I decided to take action.
My mission is to bridge this gap. In an era where automated tools are becoming common, I believe that true immersion requires more than just word-for-word conversion—it requires a deep understanding of the game's soul. I strive to provide high-quality, manual translations that allow Japanese players to experience your game exactly as you intended.
I offer high-quality, manual localization primarily from English to Japanese, with the flexibility to support multi-language projects. My focus is on delivering a seamless player experience that feels like the game was originally made for the Japanese market.
Nuanced Manual Translation: I move beyond literal word-for-word conversion. I tailor every line to fit the character's personality, emotional state, and the specific context of the scene, ensuring the most natural Japanese phrasing.
Transparent Translation Logic: Upon request, I can provide detailed notes within the translation files explaining the reasoning behind specific phrasing and how it differs from (or improves upon) machine translation.
In-Game LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance): I don't just translate text in a spreadsheet. I perform hands-on testing to check for text overflows, font legibility, and contextual consistency within the actual game environment.
Bug Reporting & Feedback: As an optional service, I provide reports on any bugs or UI/UX issues discovered during my playtests to help improve the overall polish of your title.
Current Status
Currently managing 5 localization projects across various genres.
My journey began in January 2026. Within just 10 days of my first post on itch.io, I received my first formal request, and the momentum has been growing ever since. To date, I have completed the full translation for one title and have four more projects currently in the pipeline.
To build a solid portfolio and establish long-term trust within the industry, I am currently offering my services on a voluntary basis. During this period, I am actively reaching out to developers and curating a list of titles that I believe have great potential in the Japanese market.
