Students will:

  • Obtain a 10' piece of 1/2" conduit

  • Measure, mark and cut conduit into three sections measuring...

    • 4' (Cut using a bandsaw)

    • 3'-6" (Cut using a bandsaw)

    • 2'-2 3/4" (Cut using a hacksaw)

  • Ream each piece of conduit

  • Connect the three pieces of EMT together with a coupling

  • Use the fishtape to pull wire through EMT

You Do...

Instructor will:

  • Emphasize safety and check for proper PPE throughout the process

  • Explain why PVC needs to be bent at a curve rather than perfect right angle.

  • Emphasis safety concerns for this activity

  • Check for proper PPE

  • Evaluate the student's finished product for accuracy and sign Skills Evaluation Sheet.

Students will:

  • Demonstrate proper safety techniques while wearing required PPE.

  • Measure, mark, cut and ream a piece of conduit that measures 2'-3 7/8".

    • The cut emt must meet a tolerance of 1/16"

  • Take the finished product to the instructor to be measured for accuracy

  • Obtain a signature from the instructor for completing Lab 2.1
