Plan a 100 year anniversary of the building celebration for 2026.

The shaded area on the 2018 property line map shows the boundaries of the 1796 plat map. The 1796 plat map contained 64 lots that were approximately 1 acre each. The streets were not included in the measurement. A measurement today shows the land including the streets is about 75 to 80 acres. Each square was to contain four lots of one acre each.

Over the years, subdivision of the lots and the arrival of the railroad and Jackson Blvd, led to changes in the lot configurations. The 2018 map shows very few lots maintained their original configuration. Examples of lots with their original shapes are 111 E. College St., 102 N. Cherokee St., the Eastman Credit Union lot, and the Lee's Food Market lot.
