Social Studies (Mrs. Long)
In Class Today: We are continuing our study of Paul's life and missions. The students have asked such intentional questions and have expressed true interest in learning more about one of the most influential people of the Christian faith. We learned about the Sanhedrin Council, the Pharisees, and Sadducees and Paul's role in persecuting the church.
Homework: Research one of the ancient cities Paul visited during his missions trips, write a paragraph about it, and be prepared to share your findings with the class.
Language Arts (Mrs. Long)
In Class Today: We continued our readers' theatre reading of Acts. We completed Acts 18 and 19 today. Our goal is to finish through Acts 21 by next week. The students really seem to enjoy the scenes we've been doing in class. Bringing New Testament events to life in the classroom is such a gift to me. Seeing them make connections is a delight!

Math (Mrs. Looney)
In Class Today They did fantastic today! I gave them several dividing decimal problems to complete and I was so impressed with their tenacity. We will be finishing up the logic puzzle part of that activity. We have one more week where we will be exclusively focusing on dividing decimals. I assured them that we will be doing operations other than division once we get back from Spring Break :)

Science (Mrs. Looney)
In Class Today: Last week we looked that the carbon dioxide that was created when we combined baking soda and vinegar. We noted that the mixture got colder. This week we looked at what happened when we combined yeast and hydrogen peroxide. Ask your student what was different this week when we created oxygen with our chemical reaction. We have one final experiment next week. Once we get back from Spring Break we will be doing labs with light and water to learn about the properties of light, color, and water.
