Creativity & The Arts

Visual and performing arts are an integral part of our program. Music, drawing, painting, poetry, live performance, and drama help us understand who we are and allow us opportunities to express ourselves. 

Visual Arts are taught by a local artist in residence throughout the year.  Music and 6th grade band are taught weekly by a district music specialist.  Theater opportunities include classroom performances, drama electives, and attendance at the Cal Poly Performing Arts Center. 

During the 2020 virtual school year, students continued to participate in visual arts lessons with our Artist in Residence. We organized student artwork into a virtual art gallery and presented it at our virtual STEAM Family Night.

 Our 6th grade play is an exciting culminating project-based learning experience for students.  Teach students perform and provide costuming, set design, and tech to produce the show.  It is truly a project-based learning experience!
