Able2Love — Privacy Policy

Able2Love is a dating app made for disabled people and the people who genuinely want to date them. I take your privacy seriously, and I've tried to write this plainly so you actually know what happens to your information. Able2Love is run by a solo developer based in England.
WHAT YOU GIVE US
Your email address and password (passwords are stored encrypted).
Your profile: name, age, gender, pronouns, sexual orientation, photos, bio, and any optional details you add such as height, job, education, interests or prompts.
Disability and accessibility information: whether you identify as disabled or able-bodied, any disability details you choose to share, your accessibility needs, tags and notes, and whether your place is accessible. Some of this can be considered health-related information, so we treat it with extra care and it is always optional.
Things you create and send: messages, photos, videos and voice notes you send to other people; your recorded voice intro; and your public "takes" on the daily talking points in MeetCute.
WHAT WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY
Your approximate and precise location (from your phone's GPS), used to show you people nearby and to power location features. You can turn location off in your phone settings; some features then won't work.
Location history for "Familiar Faces": when you use MeetCute, we may quietly note roughly where you've been (rounded to about 100 metres, never your exact spot). This is used only to notice when the same person's path keeps crossing yours, and it is automatically deleted after 30 days.
Your "Here Now" visibility: only when you choose to switch it on, other nearby users can see that you're around (as a rough band like "very close", never a pinpoint) for the time window you pick. It's off by default and switches itself off.
How you use the app: your likes, matches, reactions and general activity.
A device token so we can send you match and message notifications.
VOICE AND CALLS
Voice messages, voice intros and voice takes are recorded and stored so they can be played back. Voice and video calls (including Blind Date) are carried over a third-party calling service so two people can talk in real time. The "Talk To Me" hands-free mode uses your phone's own on-device speech recognition to understand your spoken commands.
WHAT OTHER USERS CAN SEE
Other users can see your profile, your rough distance, your energy status, anything you post publicly in the MeetCute feed, and any messages you send them. In Blind Date, your name and photos stay hidden until you both choose to keep talking. When you go visible in Here Now, nearby users see you're around, never your exact location.
WHO WE SHARE WITH
We do not sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers. We use trusted service providers to run the app: Supabase (secure database, accounts and file storage), Expo (app updates and push notifications), and a third-party service for voice and video calls. They only process your data to make the app work.
KEEPING IT SAFE
Your data is encrypted in transit (sent over secure connections), passwords are stored encrypted, and access to your data is restricted at the database level.
YOUR RIGHTS AND DELETING YOUR DATA
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data, and you can delete your account at any time. To request deletion of your account or specific data, contact us at the email below and we'll sort it. Because we're based in England, you have rights under UK GDPR.
HOW LONG WE KEEP THINGS
We keep your profile and content while your account is active. Location history for Familiar Faces is deleted after 30 days. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data.
AGE
Able2Love is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.
CHANGES
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be flagged in the app.
