Privacy Policy — Able to Love

Able to Love ("we", "us", "our") operates the Able to Love mobile application (the "app"), a dating service that helps disabled and able-bodied people connect. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By creating an account you agree to this policy. You can contact us at any time at support@abletolove.app.
1. Information we collect
You give us: your email address and password (passwords are stored encrypted by our authentication provider); profile information including your name, age, gender, pronouns, photos, bio, the fact that you identify as disabled or able-bodied and any disability details you choose to share, accessibility tags, preferences and profile answers; and the messages, photos and voice notes you send to other users. We also collect automatically: your approximate and precise location (GPS), used to show you nearby people and show others your distance; usage data such as likes, matches and activity; and a device token used to deliver notifications.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to create and operate your profile and account; to show you relevant nearby matches and show others your approximate distance (never your exact location); to enable matching, messaging and voice messages; to keep the community safe by reviewing reports and removing users who break our rules; and to send you notifications about matches and messages, which you can turn off.
3. Sharing your information
Other users can see your profile, approximate distance and any messages you send them. We use trusted service providers (Supabase for our database, authentication and storage, and Expo for notifications) who process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Sensitive information
Information about disability is treated as special category data. We only collect what you choose to share, and we use it solely to provide the matching service you signed up for. You can edit or remove it at any time.
5. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account (which you can do at any time within the app), we delete your profile, photos, swipes, matches and messages within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal or safety reasons.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit your profile in the app, delete your account in the app, or contact us at support@abletolove.app for any other request.
7. Children
Able to Love is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the app, and we remove any account we discover belongs to someone underage.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, encrypted password storage and database access controls so that only you and the people you match with can see your private information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of significant changes in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
