Vision and Goals

Mission Statement: A statement of the intended goals of the program. Goals: Description of the desired educational accomplishments for students. 

Goals are broad, not specific enough to be measured. 

Objectives: steps needed to reach the goals. 

• Objectives are measurable (use action verbs) 

• Objectives are student centered (what the student will do, not what the teacher will do)

 • Objectives are clear • Objectives state an outcome, not an activity 

• Objectives should include higher order thinking skills (Bloom’s Taxonomy)
