Assessment instruments

• This course provides theoretical and experiential knowledge about the basic principles of educational assessment and intervention for all learners. It emphasizes connections from research to practice and making instructional decisions based on systematically collected data. 

Assessment tools can help evaluate student learning and provide different options to assess students beyond the traditional exam. Some examples of assessment tools include:

Grading rubrics, Canvas assignments, Plagiarism detection, Self-assessment, Surveys, and Classroom polling. 

Assessment can help teachers discover whether students are learning what they should and where they are not learning. This information can help teachers make changes in either the content or teaching method in the course so they can more successfully meet the learning outcomes of the course.
