The ABJ Guitar 15 program is a performance based class where students will focus on learning classical guitar to learn technique and music theory, basic chord structures, a mix of repertoire both classical and contemporary and the final project will be students performing a live concert. This program is designed to respond to the needs of the learner, embracing a sequential and developmental approach to music instruction. Each level grows from those experiences previously presented. The program is flexible, based on an apprenticeship model, and provides for several levels of student ability and achievement within a single classroom setting.
The goal of this class is for students to improve as both individual musicians and members of an ensemble. As this class is performance oriented it will consist of warm-ups to work on instrument technique and rehearsal of repertoire chosen by the director and student groups. Students will be graded based on the curricular outcomes of musicianship, rehearsal and performance etiquette and technical skills.
