Book Loan Periods & Lost or Damaged Books

Renewals

Students and staff can renew their books up to two times before returning them to the LRC. Books can be renewed by emailing Mr. Evans at library@abbeyfield.wilts.sch.uk, visiting the LRC in person, or renewing them on Libresoft Librarian+.

Overdue Book Notifications and Penalties  

Staff and students will receive an automatic email reminder sent to their school email account on the day their books are due back at the LRC. Additionally, their Library Account will be blocked from borrowing additional library books until the books are renewed or returned. Students who do not return their books after 10 school days (2 weeks) will receive a notification on Classcharts for failing to do so, sent to their tutor and parent/guardians. If a student's LRC books are not returned after 20 school days (4 weeks), the school librarian will speak to the student's tutor or other staff members before contacting the student's parents/guardians. Parents and guardians will be contacted via Edulinkone or through a telephone conversation.

Lost or Damaged Book

If you have lost or damaged a book belonging to the LRC, you need to inform your form tutor or Mr. Evans as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances surrounding the loss or damage, you may be asked to replace the book. When replacing the item, the following criteria will apply, depending on the book: you can buy a brand new or very good second-hand copy of the book. If the book is no longer available in print, another book by the same author will be accepted if it's fiction, or a book on the same subject for non-fiction.
