These interviews took place on the 17/01/19 in the school's stage room.
INTERVIEWER: “What was your favourite part during the preparation of themusical?”
REBECCA HARDING: “My favourite part of the musical preparation so far isdefinitely trying on the costumes which were put together by one of our own teachers Ms.Hobbins”
INTERVIEWER: What is the hardest part of playing your character?
KATY SIMON: The hardest part about playing my character is having to be so romantic,
bubbly and outspoken.
INTERVIEWER: What do you think of the rehearsals and do you think they have paid off?
EOIN CONNELLY: At first, I found the rehearsals really hard but after all the practices we have done so far, all the dances have become a lot easier. Compared to three months ago when we first started off rehearsing, I do believe that the rehearsals have paid off.
WHAT WE DID:
On Tuesday the 15th we had finished painting the greenscreens.
On Wednesday the 16th we drilled both greenscreens onto a giant display board, we then carried this down to the stage and began the process of setting up the room. On Wednesday last three classes we took photos of all the main cast separately and then one big group photo of all the main cast.
On Thursday the 17th we began the filming process. David was working the cameras and audio equipment while Luke was interviewing the cast members.
WHAT WE DID (EXTENDED)
We have emailed many newspaper agencies such as : Roscommon Herald
Roscommon People Leitrim Observer Sligo Champion
A sample of what we said in the email to the newspaper agencies.
Hi, advertising committee of the Roscommon Herald
Our names are Luke and David and we are students in abbey community college and are part of the advertising committee for our upcoming school musical "All Shook Up".
We were wondering if you would be able to put an article describing when and where the musical is taking place and where ticket sales are taking place. All this information is in a pre-typed article which is attached along with a copy of our advertising poster which also contains information which also may be of use to you. We would greatly appreciate you doing this. If there is anything else you need do not hesitate to contact either of us at acc15035@gretb.ie and acc15074@gretb.ie.
Thanks,
Luke, David and the rest of the advertising committee.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, we both think the interviews and the final edited version turned out really well and we are proud of what we have accomplished in a really short space of time, considering that the stage room needed to be used for costume making.
We are delighted to announcement that this years school musical will be ‘All Shook Up’, a superb show inspired by the music of Elvis Presley. This was met with great excitement & enthusiasm from our 1st, 2nd, transition & 5th year students!
Auditions for transition & 5th years will take place next Tuesday 18th sept from 1:30pm.
Students are asked to prepare the following songs:
‘One Night with You’
‘Teddy Bear/Hounddog’
Look them up on YouTube. Make sure it’s the version from the stage musical as opposed to Elvis’ version!!!!!
