Top 10 New Waterfalls of 2022

#10 - Lower Shuksan Creek Falls

This is the lowest of the three substantial waterfalls on Shuksan Creek. The falls drop 106' in a perfect plunge into a beautiful pool of water in a tightly constricted canyon. It's difficult to get to, even harder to view clearly, but incredibly pretty.

#9 - Allred Creek Falls

Allred Creek drops over two gorgeous waterfalls as it nears Soda Springs Campground. The upper of the two falls is particularly beautiful, dropping 50' in a 60' wide wall of water. The area around the falls is covered with vanilla leaf, large trees, and a large mineral deposit on the north side of the creek.

#8 - Snowking Falls

Allred Creek drops over two gorgeous waterfalls as it nears Soda Springs Campground. The upper of the two falls is particularly beautiful, dropping 50' in a 60' wide wall of water. The area around the falls is covered with vanilla leaf, large trees, and a large mineral deposit on the north side of the creek.

#7 - Middle Shuksan Creek Falls

This looks to be an incredible waterfalls, standing somwhere in the neighborhood of 200' in height. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a spot to get a good view of it. If I go back in the future, I have a couple ideas on how to get better views. We'll see how it plays out.

#6 - West Creek Falls

A stunning 67' tall plunge into a perfect swimming hole located near Stampede Pass. This one had been on my radar for a decade before I finally got there.

#5 - Union Creek Falls

This is a fairly popular waterfall located a short distance down a trail on the east side of Mt. Rainier. I've driven by the trail three or four times and for some reason never stopped. Add in a nice upper falls a couple miles up the trail and this is a great hike . . . unless it's 98 degrees like it was when I did it.

#4 - Buckeye Falls

This is by far the best out of a dozen waterfalls on Buckeye Creek on the east side of Whitehorse Mountain. The falls drop right around 400' in height, spreading out to 40' wide in the process. The only downside was that we couldn't find a good view of the falls because of the steepness of the canyon and the large number of trees in the way.

#3 - Bumping River Falls

If it wasn't for the God awful, hour long drive down the worst road in the world, this woud be a super popular destination. Once you finally get to the end of the road, it's an easy 1/3 of a mile down the trail to a view looking down on this 120' wide, 50' tall cascading waterfall. It's a cool spot for sure.

#2 - Horizon Falls

This unnamed creek has one of the best collections of waterfalls anywhere. This was a new one for me this year, located upstream from all the others, and it might be my favorite on the creek. Horizon Falls begins with a 50' tall, 25' wide horsetailing drop. The creek then spreads out to 80' wide and tumbles another 70' in a huge wall of water. It's difficult to get a clear view when the creek is running high, but this is an unbelievable waterfall!

#1 - Shuksan Creek Falls

This enormous, 550' tall waterfall is located on large volume Shuksan Creek in the middle of a deep canyon on the west side of Mt. Shuksan. It is one of the best waterfalls in the Mt. Baker area and one of the Top 25 waterfalls in the entire PNW. Unfortunately, it's incredible difficult to get to. Fortunately, you'll get to see several other waterfalls along the way.
