DIRECTIONS - From the town of Twisp, head west on Twist River Road into the mountains. Turn left onto FR-4430 (I believe it's signed for Eagle Creek and War Creek Trails). Just after crossing the river, turn right onto FR-4420 (W Buttermilk Creek Road). In about half a mile the road will cross Eagle Creek. Continue for another half a mile or so until you see a gated road on the right. Park and walk up the road for about a mile. As it nears the creek the main road turns left (you should hear the falls at this point). You should see the remains of an older road heading straight towards the creek. Follow it to the canyon rim and then scramble down as far as you'd like to get your view.

Eagle Creek drops a total of 94' in a series of small drops as it nears the Twisp River. The main tier is a 51' tall plunge over a really cool hunk of bedrock. The creek then drops over three more small drops before flattening out. The canyon has become pretty well filled with burned up logs and other debris, but the area above the falls is recovering nicely with bright green vegetation. This contrasts nicely with the black, charred remains of the burned out pine forest.

Eagle Creek Falls is nice. What's even nicer are the gorgeous wildflowers on the walk up to the falls. The area around the creek suffered a recent forest fire. This has resulted in a lots of logs around the falls, burned trees along the route, and a general uglification of the area. However, as the area recovers, Mother Nature is putting on a fine show. Lupine and other flowers are springing up from the charred soiled by the acre, making the walk up the old road very enjoyable.
