Grade bundling or contract grading is an empowering way to let students choose the grade they would like to earn in the course based on doing a set number of assignments. This system is not based on points, but rather it is based on completing quality work with an emphasis on revision. Therefore, assignments in this course are going to be marked as “Complete” or “Incomplete.” The grade bundles below are being made in order to allow students to not feel like they have to do every single assignment in course if they do not wish to earn an A but rather to empower students to complete and revise their work demonstrating what they have learned in order to earn the grade they desire. Students can use this grade tracker tool to keep track of your grade in the class based on the work that you have completed.
Students must complete a few mandatory assignments that build on each other to the midterm and final. Mandatory Assignments for all bundles include:
Syllabus Quiz
Library Source/AI Discussion
Thesis Discussion
Annotated Bibliography
Research Outline
Final Essay
Then students are able to choose which grade bundle to complete to earn the grade they desire for the class.
