As graduation nears, I have officially begun my post-graduation job search and I am currently looking for positions in hospital operations, quality improvement, and finance. Although I am interested in these particular career fields I am also open to any opportunities that may come my way. Ultimately, I plan on going back to school to further my education in the near future by applying for the Master's of Health Administration program at the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. My overall career goal is to make a difference in the lives of underrepresented individuals and communities in order to give them access to high quality healthcare at an affordable price.
Thinking ahead to my professional career goals, there are various things that I need and want to do in order to meet these goals of mine. As I mentioned above, I plan on applying to the Master's of Health Administration program at IUPUI so I can enhance the career opportunities available to me and to broaden my knowledge of the healthcare industry. A certification that interests me and that I would like to obtain to help meet my career goals is the Lean Six Sigma belt process certification. This certification would allow me to develop my professional understanding of process improvement and how to apply it to healthcare organizations. The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Executive Women in Healthcare organization (EWHC) are two professional organizations that I would be ecstatic to join one day. I find true value in networking with healthcare executives to learn more about their professional experiences and to apply them to my future career.
