About Me
About Me
Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio!
My name is Aaliyah Olvera Vanzzini and I am currently a senior majoring in Health Services Management at the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. As my undergraduate experience is shortly coming to an end, I wanted to create this ePortfolio to highlight my growth and time here at IUPUI.
After graduation, I want to pursue a career in hospital operations, finance, or quality improvement. I also aim on pursuing a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration.
Why Health Services Management?
I originally came into IUPUI wanting to pursue a career in nursing and was on the pre-nursing track during my first semester. I always knew that I wanted to work in healthcare but I wasn't too knowledgable about all the different career opportunities that were available within the healthcare sector.
During my first year seminar, Sarah Johnson gave a presentation over what the Health Services Management program was and I was instantly intrigued. I looked further into the program afterwards and the following semester I switched majors as I knew that the management side of healthcare was the right path to better fulfill my career aspirations.
My overall passion is to help make a difference in the lives of underrepresented communities by advocating for a more equitable healthcare system that provides high quality care at an affordable price.
