Activities:
Print and cut 2 copies- have them match the pictures, play go fish or memory
Print and cut 1 copy , have your child identify the cleaning tool "find_________" or "touch__________"
If your child has an AAC device used for communication, have them look for the cleaning tool on their device (use search feature to locate the word initially)
Talk about what the cleaning tool is used for and practice using it.
Have your child visually track a picture or actual cleaning tool-shine a flashlight on the picture and label what the item is (ie: dustpan)
Engage with the cleaning tools that you have around the house. Touch the item and practice using it together.
Match the picture to the actual cleaning tool
Go on a scavenger hunt around the house to find the cleaning tools
Load and unload the dishwasher:
Practice sorting the silverware
Locate where items go in your kitchen
identify kitchen items/cooking tools
visually track kitchen items and verbally identify
Making the bed:
Start each day making your bed
Identify the different parts of the bed: flat sheet, fitted sheet, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, comforter, quilt
Clean up your bedroom:
Put dirty clothes in the hamper or bring to the laundry room
Put toys away
Bring any dishes or cups to the kitchen
Put away clean clothes
Put shoes in closet
Empty your trashcan
