Tutoring Services: A Step Up to Learning

I provide K-6 tutoring services, available both online and in the student's home.

Initial Consultation (Free)

To ensure the best possible support, I offer a complimentary initial meeting. This consultation allows the student and parent to meet me and vice versa, helping everyone feel comfortable. As a parent, I recognize the value of this introduction. It is also an opportunity to thoroughly discuss the student's current academic standing and how I can help them achieve success.

The Tutoring Session

Building trust and a strong connection (rapport) is essential in education. To foster our relationship, the first five minutes of each session are dedicated to a casual catch-up on school news or exciting activities. Additionally, depending on our progress, I often include a student-led fun activity toward the end of our time together.

My primary focus is on core school subjects, offering help with homework and major assignments. I also dedicate time to addressing specific academic areas where the student requires additional reinforcement.

Curriculum and Resources

I am familiar with the current curricula used in classrooms. I utilize a range of teaching materials to support my students' success, some of which can be accessed at home for continued practice.

Google Classroom 

• I create a Google Classroom for each of my students and their parents to easily review students' work and collaborate on assignments.

• A digital learning tool that makes it easy to transform lessons into active, collaborative learning experiences to engage students on their devices, wherever they are.

• Another program, similar to Lumio, allows us to work through lessons and concepts through interactive learning.

• An interactive website that students can use to help them study their spelling words and gain a better understanding of vocabulary.

• I use this learning tool for extra practice and assessment with students.

Fireflies

• During each session, I use Fireflies, a program that records and summarizes our meetings. I share these notes with you following our meeting.
