Summarizing is when you take a longer passage, from several sentences to several paragraphs or even more, and restate the essential main ideas in your own words. When you summarize, you end up with considerably less words than the original source.Â
Once upon a time in a vibrant countryside, three little pigs set out to build homes of their own. The first pig, being hasty, built his house of straw, while the second, a bit more cautious, constructed his from sticks. The third pig, wise and diligent, chose sturdy bricks for his dwelling.
Their peaceful existence was soon disrupted by a cunning wolf with a voracious appetite. He huffed and he puffed, blowing down the houses of straw and sticks with ease, but the brick house stood strong.
The two unfortunate pigs sought refuge in their brother's brick house. Together, they outwitted the wolf, who fell into a boiling pot of water they had prepared.
In the end, the three little pigs learned the importance of hard work, perseverance, and planning ahead, living happily ever after in their secure brick house.
