At Hawakirna, we believe that caring for the environment begins with caring for the land that shapes our communities and our identity.

Our purpose is to reconnect people—especially young people—with nature by creating spaces for learning, growing, and collective action. Through community gardens, environmental initiatives, and grassroots activities, we work to cultivate a culture where protecting the land becomes part of everyday life.

Inspired by the deep relationship between people and their land, Hawakirna seeks to nurture environmental awareness, strengthen community responsibility, and encourage sustainable practices that protect our natural resources for generations to come.

By empowering local communities and youth to take part in shaping a greener future, we aim to grow not only healthier environments, but also stronger connections between people, place, and nature.

By 2030, Hawakirna aims to become a leading community‑driven environmental initiative working to transform urban life across Palestinian cities.

Our vision is to see neighborhoods where green spaces are integrated into everyday environments, where balconies bloom with plants, where shared community gardens bring neighbors together, and where waste is viewed not as a problem but as a resource that can be reused, recycled, and reimagined.

Through the expansion of our core initiatives — Balcona, Hakoura, and Others — we aim to create scalable models that can be implemented in cities and communities across Palestine. These projects are designed not only to address environmental challenges but also to strengthen community resilience, environmental awareness, and sustainable lifestyles.
