Weapons
In ancient Mesopotamia, there were bows, daggers, swords, chariots, spears, maces, and more. They were all used in many ways. Bows were used as they are today, To shoot and pierce things. They could even shoot up to 300-400 feet! Ouch! A dagger, also called a short sword, was used like a normal sword except for the obvious reason that they were smaller. Maces were a wooden club with a heavy blunt material on the top, usually in the shape of a large ball. Sometimes with spikes! That is gonna leave a bruise! Last but not least, they had chariots! They were usually a moving platform with 2 wheels on the bottom. Soldiers attached a horse or 2 to them and then moved them in and out of battle with spearmen shooting from far or short distances. Battle Strategies
There were many battle strategies, but these are the most known. Hammurabi of the Babylonian Empire would cut off the water supply to the city that Babylon was going to attack so that the enemy city would flood, thus for an easier siege or attack. Ok, now onto Fear Factors. Some cities and civilizations would torture and/or kill their enemies and criminals. They would cut off people's feet, noses, tongues, lips and on top of that, blind the offenders! They would also take in prisoners of war which was when a city in war would catch soldiers of another city and hold them captive. Sometimes even putting them into slavery! (AH)
